By KTM Metro Reporter

August 26, 2012: in the remote village of the Arghakhanchi district in Nepal, a father shot his son mistaking him for a monkey and dropped him dead from a tree. A 12-year had climbed a tree to scare away the monkeys pestering the family corn crops. The father not knowing his son was on the tree and mistaking him for a monkey that had come to eat his corn harvest, took his gun and shot the son on the tree and dropped him down only to find his 12-year son not a monkey, according to theaustralian.com.

In Nepal, monkeys, wild boars and even elephants compete with humans for foods. They try to steal farmers’ crops during the harvest time. So, farmers often stay up whole nights for watching animals and driving them out of their crops just before harvesting crops. During such vigil, farmers sometimes confront with animals often killing the animals but sometimes farmers losing their lives, too.
