Legislators Debate Draft Report On A Constitution

On January 12, 2010, the members of the Constituent Assembly (CA) have started off a debate on the concept paper and preliminary draft report on a new constitution prepared by the Constitutional Committee (CC). Immediately after CC chairman Nilambar Acharya has submitted it at the CA meeting presided over by CA Chairman Subash Chandra Nemwang, legislators have started off a debate on it. The CC Committee has incorporated a number of ‘notes of dissents’ put forward by different political parties in its report under separate headings. Some legislators have said that the problem is members of some political parties have written notes of dissents even on the issues resolved by consensus.
