Prime Minister Madhav Nepal Proves Himself Corrupt

March 29, 2010: awarding the contract for printing the machine-readable passports to the Indian state-owned company on the contrary to the recommendation of the Public Account Committee for awarding the contract for printing the machine-readable passports to the lowest bidder following the financial rules and regulations, Prime Minster Madhav Nepal has openly abused his authority and has explicitly engaged in corruption not following the rule of law. He has not only ignored the rules and regulations but also has refused to follow the recommendation of the sovereign Public Account Committee. Madhav Nepal is not accountable to the people, as he is not an elected person but has become the Prime Minister using the flaws in the election system.

The Public Account Committee has decided to ask explanations from Prime Minister Madhav Nepal for not following the financial rules and regulations for awarding the contract for printing machine-readable passports, and the reasons for canceling the bids called for printing machine-readable passports and awarding the printing of machine-readable passports to the Indian company in contravention of the rule of law on April 5, 2010.
