Declaring Victims Of Bomb Blast In Janakpur Martyrs

May 4, 2012: the Council of Ministers has yesterday decided to declare four victims such as Bimal Sharan Kurmi, Jhagadu Dash, Ranju Devi Jha and Suresh Upadhaya of the bomb blast at Ramananda Chowk in Janakpur on April 30, 2012 as martyrs, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes. Twenty-eight others were injured in the blast.

After the cabinet meeting, Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun said that the government would provide families of each killed in the bomb blast with one million rupees, and would foot all the medical bills of the injured ones.

While staging a sit-in rally demanding a separate Mithila province in Janakpur, a strong bomb apparently attached to a motorcycle parked nearby went off killing four people and injuring several people. Some of the seriously injured people were airlifted to the state-run Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu.
