Palestinian, Iran, US, And Israel Prime Minister
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu won the decisive elections held in Israel on Tuesday, March 17, 2015. He would be the fourth-term Israeli prime minister. Our congratulation is to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on his election victory.
His victory has been almost the defeat of the Israeli people. Netanyahu might be the leader but he was not a visionary. He could not see that Israeli could not live on in the war-like situation. He also could not see that he could bully the Palestinians forever, as he has been doing now. The only future for Israel is to create a Palestinian State and live friendly with each other.
“The Palestinian leadership has threatened to go to the International Criminal Court at The Hague on April 1 to press war crimes charges against Israeli soldiers and leaders, focusing on civilian deaths during a 50-day war in the Gaza Strip last summer and the continued construction of Jewish-only settlements in the occupied West Bank.
“It is clear that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will form the next government, and for that, we say clearly that we will go to the Hague Tribunal,” top Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat told Agence France-Presse on Wednesday. “We will accelerate, continue and intensify” diplomatic efforts, he said.” (Source: “Netanyahu sweeps to victory in Israeli election”, Washingtonpost.com, March 18, 2015)
Netanyahu wanted a direct destruction of the Iranian nuclear setup, no doubt about it. Only the US has been stopping Netanyahu from sending his attack planes to destroy the underground nuclear setup. US President Obama and his administration wanted to stop Iran developing its nuclear-arm capability while allowing the Iranians to develop nuclear power for the peaceful purposes through negotiations.
Netanyahu went to the US and spoke to the US Congress on opposing the peaceful negotiation with the Iranians. US House Speaker John Boehner invited Netanyahu to speak to the Congress on March 3, 2015 with the clear intention of embarrassing the US administration but he ignored the embarrassment the US Congress and all the Americans for that matter had to endure.
Some Congresspersons felt that the embarrassment caused by Netanyahu to the US administration was not sufficient. So, forty-seven US Congresspersons wrote a letter to the Iranian Ayatollah stating any negotiations and agreements reached with President Obama would be revoked immediately after Obama would leave the white House. Thus, the US Congresspersons have put the credibility of the US administration in doubt. It did harm the entire US administration including the Congress.
