Three left parties oppose eight-point agreement.

Issue 09, March 02, 2008

By KTM Reporter in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, February 29: Three left parties such as Nepal Workers’ and Peasants’ Party, People’s Front Nepal and United Left Front opposed the eight-point agreement signed with the United Democratic Madheshi Front (UDMF) saying it was done in a hurry and under the pressure of the foreign forces. They say that it will not be in the interest and will go against the national integrity and social harmony.

In a statement Secretary to the Nepal Workers’ and Peasants’ Party, Sunil Prajapati said that the mass recruitment of Madheshi and other ethnic groups for the Nepali Army in the name of inclusiveness would open doors to the foreign interference in the Nepalese affairs and the instigation of communal disharmony in Nepal.

The agreement with the UDMF is the clear defeat of the monarchists, as it has repeatedly said that Nepal will be the federal democratic republic. So, the life of the suspended king is shortening by every day.
