By KTM Metro Reporter

March 19, 2012: the ‘Lumbini-Sagarmatha Peace March 2012’ has decided not to take the money the government has decided to give it for the campaign. The government has decided to provide the team with Rs 20 millions but the youth associations affiliated to the NC and CPN-UML have threatened the government to launch a protest against the government providing the money to the team of which Prakash Dahal: the son of Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda is the member.

At a press conference held in Kathmandu yesterday, the peace-march team leader Krishna KC has said that the team has decided not to take the money the government has intended to provide, honoring the opinions of the political leaders, youth associations and so on, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.

"We have taken positively all the reactions of political parties, their youth associations, student unions and others regarding the government’s decision to give assistance; all those protesting against the government’s decision to give financial support to the expedition team, should also take a look into the misuse of government fund since the introduction of the multiparty system, " ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today quotes KC.

The team leader KC has explained that the objective of the peace march is to consolidate the harmony and goodwill among the people of the hills, mountains and the Terai so that it could help in completing the peace process and the constitution writing.

Member of the peace march: Prakash Dahal has said that the team has decided not to take the financial assistance from the government following the opposition of some youth organizations and the political parties that have attempted to cash in such a trivial matter for political gains.

"The protest against the government assistance to our expedition team is a height of the activities of Nepali Congress and CPN-UML against peace and constitution," ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today quotes Dahal.

The ‘Lumbini-Sagarmatha Peace March 2012’ is starting on March 29, 2012.
