Constitution Not On Schedule

Issue 49, December 6, 2009

BY KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

On December 4, 2009, speaking at the function held by Nepal Press Union of Syangja at the district headquarters Waling, Nepali Congress Parliamentary Leader Ram Chandra Poudel has said that the writing of a new constitution would not be possible without the integration of the Maoist combatants and completing the peace process; so writing of a new constitution will not be completed on schedule.

The statement of Mr. Poudel has proved the accusation of the Maoists that the Nepali Congress leaders have been blocking the writing of a new constitution, obstructing the integration of the Maoist combatants with the Nepal Army, not serious about the peace process, and conspiring to imposing the presidential rule in the country, to be true.

On December 4, 2009, speaking at the function held by the Federation of Professionals in Kathmandu, Deputy Chairman of Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist and Leninist Bamdev Gautam has said that if the writing of a new constitution is not completed on time then the country will go to the hands of whoever holding firepower.
