Opposing Clampdown on Tibetan protestors in Kathmandu

On Tuesday, March 11, 2008, in a statement, Freedom Forum condemned the Nepal Government's clampdown on the free-Tibet march organized by Tibetan protestors and preventing them from submitting memorandum to the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu on March 10, 2008 according to Nepalnews.com ag Mar 12 08. The forum said, "It is sheer violation of freedom of opinion and expression. Everyone has the right to exercise this freedom which includes freedom to hold opinions without interference."

The Nepalese police clashed with the Tibetan protestors at Chabahil and Boudhha in Kathmandu when the police stopped the Tibetan marchers from going to the Chinese Embassy on Monday, March 12, 2008.
