CPN-UML Cadre In Police Custody For Criminal Acts

December 3, 2013: Police have arrested CPN-UML cadre Prakash Regmi on the charge of vandalizing a vehicle of UCPN-Maoist candidate of Chitwan Constituency No. 3, Narayan Dahal during the November 19 CA election period, according to the RSS news on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’.
Police have filed a case against him under Public Offence Act promptly to avoid pressure to release him. He was arrested and a case was filed against him to avoid political pressure, said DSP Sanjaya Bahadur Raut, chief at the District Police Office.
Regmi was not involved in this case but police arrested and filed the case against him without giving time for clarification even though he has no hand in the incident, said Jagannath Thapaliya, chairman of CPN (UML), Chitwan district.
