Three-year Interim Plan

On November 26, 2007, National Planning Commission approved the draft of the three-year interim plan in the meeting presided over by Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala. Vice-chairman of the Commission National Planning, Jagdish Chandra Pokhrel presented the three-year plan formulated following the policy adopted by the National Development Council three months ago. The three-year interim plan would cover the period 2006-09 and would be effective after the approval of the Council of Ministers.

The three-year interim plan was the second periodic plan. The first such a three-year interim plan was implemented in 1962 after the demise of democracy and introduction of the party-less political system called Panchayat.
