Regular Budget For Full Development

Issue 42, October 14, 2012

By KTM Metro Reporter

October 9, 2012: A delegation of Federation of Nepal Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) led by its President Suraj Baidhya called on NC President Sushil Koirala at his residence, and Chairman of CPN-Maoist Mohan Vaidhya at his party office Buddhanagar today and urged them to build a political consensus on a full budget; the delegation is also scheduled to call on UCPN-Maoist Chairman Prachanda and CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal today, reports RRS/thehimalayantimes.com.

The country cannot make any steady development, as a number of development projects remain idle without the full budget. The private business will move slowly without the government spending, as the demand for goods and services will be reduced because job opportunities will be considerably reduced due to the non-implementation of the development projects.

The Head of State President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav approved only a partial budget stating the government should build a consensus on a full-fledged budget for the FY 2012.  As everybody, the President also knows that building a consensus among the Nepalese political leaders is next to impossible but under the pressure of the opposition coalition of the NC and CPN-UML, the president has put on hold the full-fledged budget. So, President Dr. Yadav has been fully responsible for not accepting the full-fledged budget, and highly irresponsible to the development of the country.
