By KTM Metro Reporter
July 16, 2013: the four-party political mechanism yesterday has had a meeting with the three political parties that have been opposing the elections in conjunction with the CPN-Maoist. Leaders of all the three political parties have committed to participate in the elections and even have said that they are not in the political front of the CPN-Maoist.
At the meeting held at the office of the four-party political mechanism at Nayabaneswore yesterday, the leaders of the mechanism discussed with CP Mainali-of CPN–ML, Chitra Bahadur KC of Rastriya Janamorcha Party and Chandra Dev Joshi of CPN–United about their stance on the polls; all three parties assured the major political parties of participating in elections scheduled for November 19, according to the news on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com.’
Coordinator of the four-party political mechanism Bijay Kumar Gacchedar has held a meeting with chairman of CPN-Maoist Mohan Vaidhya at the latter’s’ residence to hold formal talks with the four-party political mechanism, and the government. Clearly, Vaidhya has only a few political parties are left for him to count on for fighting against the holding of the elections in November 19.
Vice-chairman of CPN-Maoist CP Gajurel has continued to harp on about not participating in the elections under the current state of affairs, and about the uselessness of holding talks with the four-party political mechanism, and the government.
The four-party political mechanism and its government headed by the sitting chief justice have been taking it easy to hold talks with the CPN-Maoist. Most of the political parties supporting the CPN-Maoist for its campaign on boycotting the elections have been alienated by the unilateral announcement of setting up a talk team by the CPN-Maoist to hold talks with the government and the four-party political mechanism. In addition, the CPN-Maoist has failed in including any other leaders on the talk team other than its own party members.
