Government Strips Vice-president off His Official Status

On September 4, 2009, the Home Ministry has recalled the security from the residence of Vice-president Permananda Jha stating he no more does enjoy the status of Vice-president as he has failed in taking the oath of office in Nepali after the Supreme Court of Nepal has annulled his oath in Hindi. The security also has removed the official flag from his residence.
The Finance Ministry has stopped paying Mr. Jha the salary and other remuneration he has enjoyed as the Vice-president. The government has denied to him all privileges he has enjoyed as the Vice-president.
