By KTM Metro Reporter

July 17, 2010: rich tribute has been to Corporal Arjun Purja Pun, 33 one of the three British soldiers from the First Battalion The Royal Gurkha Rifles based at Shorncliffe Barracks in Folkestone killed on Tuesday while on duty in the Nahr-e-Sarj region of Helmand province in Afghanistan according to the kentnews.co.uk.

The British Army has recruited and enlisted Corporal Pun from Khibang village in the Magdi district in Nepal into it in January 1995 following a grueling selection process.

Corporal Pun’s wife Durga said, “Arjun Puja Pun was a tremendous husband. He was proud to be a soldier and died doing a job he loved. We are devastated by the loss of Arjun who was a loving husband and father. We are proud of the fact that he was prepared to do his duty helping the people of Afghanistan” quoted by the kentnews.co.uk
