EU Providing Nepal With Nine Million Euro

September 21, 2013: speaking to the reporters at the International Airport in Kathmandu upon his arrival from a week long European tour, Finance Minister Shankar Prasad Koirala Thursday has said that his Europe tour was successful in expanding business and economic ties of Nepal with European countries; and the European Union has agreed to provide Nepal with nine-million Euro for the enhancement of the capacity of the public and private sector concerned with trade, according to the news on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’.

 

 “The Minister of European Union (Development Attorney) Andris Piebalgs is positive to bring changes in the traditional structure of its support for the development program of Nepal,” he said.

 

The minister said that the invitation extended to Nepal to be a guest of honor in the trade fair coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Nepal Belgium friendship relation was itself an achievement.

 

He also said that the EU was committed to increasing its investment in the areas of democracy, good governance, education and rural development in Nepal.
