April 5, 2010: Prime Minister Madhav Nepal has said on April 4, 2010 that the news on the CPN-UML legislators collecting signatures for ousting him is totally false.
CPN-UML politburo member Pradeep Gyawali has said that UCPN-Maoist should give up arms and army if it were to form a government. He has said that the CPN-UML would not stand in the way of forming a government under the Maoists if they were to shun the politics of violence.
Speaking at its Parliamentary Party meeting on April 4, 2010, some legislators of the NC have criticized the government for its poor performances. NC parliamentary party leader Ram Chandra Poudel has tried to convince them of the need for correcting the performances of the government rather than pulling it down.
Spokesperson for NC Arjun Narsingh K.C. has said that the current government should remain intact until completion of the peace process and the promulgation of a new constitution.
Speaking at a Face-to-Face program held on April 4, 2010, leader of UCPN-Maoist Dinanath Sharma has said that the consensus politics would not be possible as long as the current government remains in power.
Addressing a press conference in Lahan, Chairman of Madhesi People’s Rights Forum (MPRF) Upendra Yadav has said on April 4, 2010 that his party would topple the government through the no-confidence motion at the legislature, as it has neither been able to complete the peace process to a logical end nor to promulgate a new constitution on time.
