Central Committee Meeting of UCPN-Maoist Concludes

September 12, 2010: the Central Committee meeting of UCPN-Maoist has concluded in Kathmandu today afternoon with a decision on launching a peaceful movement for completing the peace process, the constitution writing and against the foreign interferences in the Nepalese politics, and also on taking the political documents of Prachanda, Bhattarai and Vaidya presented to the Central Committee to the district level for discussions.

On Saturday, September 11, 2010, speaking at the central committee meeting, Vice-chairman of UCPN-Maoist Baburam Bhattarai has said that the party needs to strengthen the political gains so far made completing the peace process and constitution-drafting; to this end the party needs to use the parliament, streets and government.

Speaking at the same meeting, another Vice-chairman Mohan Vaidya has said that the party needs to prepare for a revolt to achieve the political goals the party has set. He has concerned with the possibility of the party deviating from its core ideology and moving on to the path the CPN-UML has adopted.

The Central Committee has also decided that the party will hold mass rallies nationwide from mid-September for a month as the part of a peaceful movement for completing the peace process, constitution drafting and national sovereignty and also concerning the people’s livelihood.

The central committee has also entrusted Chairman Prachanda for completing the political document.

Concerning the audiotape allegedly Chief of Foreign Department of UCPN-Maoist Krishna Bahadur Mahara has asked a Chinese official for buying the votes in the Prime Ministerial election, the party has said that the foreigners working in Nepal against the interest of UCPN-Maoist have framed it.
