Formation Of A New Government Under Chief Justice

Issue 08, February 24, 2013

By KTM Metro Reporter

February 20, 2013: leaders of four major political parties such as UCPN-Maoist, UDMF, NC and CPN-UML had apparently agreed on forming a new government at the meeting held at the Shital Niwas office of President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on February 18, 2013 but the vocal leaders of the NC and CPN-UML have been talking against such a government. Even some of the leaders have been asking the Chief Justice to quit the office of the Chief Justice before taking the office of prime minister.

Gorkhapatara has even published a long article on the formation of a new government, and the data on the Chief Justice. The top leaders have to bully other leaders to accept their agreement on forming a new government under the chief justice. Bullying their own junior leaders might not be difficult but bullying other parties such as the CPN-Maoist–III (Vaidhya), CPN-Maoist-II (Matrika), and other minor political parties might be difficult. They might launch a protest movement. The Chief Justice as a prime minister would be able to tackle such movement remains to be seen.

NC and CPN-UML have not agreed on setting up a Truth and Reconciliation Commission proposed by the UCPN-Maoist stating it would provide all criminals with amnesty. They also have not agreed on the citizenship issue raised by the UDMF, according to ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.
