NC and CPN-UML Continue to Boycott CA session

On April 07, 2009, after the opening of the session of the Constituent Assembly: parliament, taking time from the chairman to speak, NC leader Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat told the parliament that criminals have been going free with impunity, and the Maoists have been interfering in the judiciary and even in the sports allowing the Maoist combatants to participate in the Fifth National Game of 2009.

Then, leader of the CPN-UML Yam Lal Khadel told the parliament that the CPN-UML would continue to boycott the parliament session until the government brings the killer of CPN-UML cadre ‘Thaiba’ to justice. Thaiba was killed in Butwal on March 27, 2009.

Thereafter, the NC and CPN-UML members of the parliament boycotted the parliament. The parliament will sit again on April 8, 2009.

On April 07, 2009, the Prime Minister met with the members of the parliament belonging to seventeen small parties to discuss the matters concerning the running of the parliament smoothly.
