Focus On Economic Issues Rather Than Anything Else

October 19, 2011: The Standing Committee (SC) of UCPN-Maoist yesterday has taken a decision on advising Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai on not reaching any deals with the Indian authorities on the disputed areas other than the trade, business and transportation for serving the national interest during his official visit to India, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.

Speaking to the reporters after the SC meeting, Spokesman for UCPN-Maoist Dinanath Sharma has said that considering the current political transitional phase in Nepal, the prime minister should not reach any agreements on important and contentious issues rather the prime minister should use his goodwill visit to India to enhance the relations between the two countries.

Meanwhile the news posted on the Thehindu.com says that the Prime Minister will urge India to provide a $1 billion line of credit for infrastructure projects, assistance in construction of hospitals, bridges, embankments and canals, creation of world-class engineering and medical colleges.

Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai with his spouse Hisila Yami is leaving Nepal for a four-day official visit to India on October 20, 2011.
