Heavy Snowfall In Western Nepal Blocks Highway

Issue 51, December 16, 2012

By KTM Metro Reporter

December 14, 2012: Baitadi and Bajhang districts of the western Nepal have had heavy snowfall: about a foot thick on the highways causing the vehicles to stay where they are disrupting the regular lives of the people there today, the state-run news agency RSS reports.

The Baitadi-Bajhang highway named after Jaya Prithvibahadur Singh Highway has been disrupted following the heavy snowfall. The transport service along the Shreebhawar road section of the Highway has come to a standstill after snowfall reaching up to one foot on the road, writes ‘The Himalayan Times’ quoting the RSS.

The passengers and vehicles heading to and from Bajhang to different districts in Terai remained where they were following the snowfall, and the regular lives of the people have been heavily affected.
