By KTM Metro Reporter
August 16, 2010: the Nepal Army is constructing the fast-tract highway between Kathmandu and Hetauda at full speed after the laying of the foundation stone on November 08, 2009; the army has targeted to complete it in the next three years; it costs about Rs 6.00 billion rupees; as many as 150 bridges have to be built; and 1.3 km-long tunnel to be dug; more than 10,000 trees are to be cut down; the 19 km of 76 km-long fast tract has been completed, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of August 15, 2010 quotes the state news agency called RSS.
If the army is really doing it and completing it within the next three years we will be well off giving all the construction works to the army. However, it will be a miracle if the Nepal Army can do all these things making the fast-track highway serviceable within three years expect for felling down the 10,000 trees.
