Home Minister Back Home After India Visit

January 22, 2012: Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Gacchedhar holding the portfolios of Home and Defense ministries has come back home on Saturday night, January 21, 2012 after five-day India visit.

Speaking to the reporters at the International Airport in Kathmandu, Mr. Gacchedhar has said that he has first met with the Indian Prime Minister that has been very happy with Nepal for improving the relations with the northern neighbor China, and has promised to do everything he can to assist Nepal in completing the peace process and the constitution writing; then he met with the defense minister; he has been successful to lift the embargo on the arm supply to Nepal; so, Nepal is getting some arms and ammunitions required for the Nepal Army; the third minister he met with was the home minister; he has said that Indian home minister has been concerned with the open border that has eased the smugglers and other culprits to engage in illegal activities including the circulation of fake banknotes, ‘gorkhapatra’ of today writes.

Mr. Gacchedhar has said that he has reminded the Indian prime minister the invitation Nepalese prime minister has given him at the time of the latter’s visit to India; the Indian prime minister has been very eager to visit Nepal as soon as possible.
