Employees Halted All Domestic Flights

Issue 51, December 19, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter

December 16, 2010: none of the domestic flights of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) were taken off today, too. Employees belonging to the trade union of NAC have stopped all the domestic flights demanding the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoTCA) revoke its decision on permitting the Air Arabia to fly on the Kathmandu-Kuala Lumpur route, ‘The Himalayan Times’ reports.

The employees putting pressure on the MoTCA to annul its decision on allowing the Air Arabia to operate Kathmandu- Kuala Lumpur route believe that the decision has been at cost of the national airlines NAC. Obviously, Minister and other fellow decision makers possibly make millions of rupees from awarding such lucrative flight routes to airlines. This decision is the vivid example of how they make money at the cost of the nation and national airlines.
