CPN-Maoist Breaking Off From Mainstream Of Politics

Issue 51, December 22, 2013

By KTM Metro Reporter

December 17, 2013: making public yesterday the decisions made by the central committee of the party at the weeklong meeting, chairman of CPN-Maoist Mohan Vaidhya Kiran said that his party annulled all agreements including the 12-point understanding and the Comprehensive Peace Agreement it had reached with the government, according to the news on ‘gorkhaaptraonline.com’.

"The country can find an outlet only through an all-party political conference," said Vaidhya at the press conference held in Kathmandu yesterday. He claimed such a conference could solve all sorts of misunderstandings and conflicts among the parties.

"The party had kept the door for dialogue with all sides open. Let's talk about peace and statute making holding the all-party conference. We are ready to collaborate," he said.

The hard-line leader Vaidhya said that although there was hope of crafting a new constitution, the new constitution would be like that of 1990 and it would not address the issues of nationality, democracy and livelihood of the people, as the NC and CPN-UML had almost two-thirds majority in the new CA, according to the news on ‘gorkhaaptraonline.com’.
