Celebrating Anniversary Of Lord Buddha Today

May 25, 2013: people in the Buddhist world are celebrating 2557 anniversary of Lord Buddha today holding various events. In Nepal too, people are celebrating the anniversary of Lord Buddha. At Swoyambhu in Kathmandu, a special event is held to mark the anniversary of Lord Buddha.
Mediation and prayers are held in Vihars means Buddhist monasteries elsewhere in Nepal. In Lumbini: the birthplace of Lord Buddha, a special event is held. Recently, certain media and unscrupulous people have been giving wrong information on the birthplace of Lord Buddha. The birthplace of Lord Buddha is Lumbini in Nepal has been proved without doubt.
Buddha’s teaching is very simple. You will get the results of what you do whether you do good or bad things you will have the good or bad results depending on your deeds. You would never get good results doing bad things. In addition, you cannot get away with the bad results of your bad deeds even after doing good deeds. You will have the results of what you do.
Buddha also discovered that everything is impermanent, non-existence of soul, and sufferings. He also discovered the causes of sufferings, possibility of getting relief from sufferings, and the way to get away from sufferings.
The way to get away from sufferings is the eight-fold path: 1) right speech, 2) right doing, 3) right living, 4) right mediation, 5) right thinking, 6) right concentration, 7) right determination, 8) right vision. Anybody can practice the eight-fold path following the method of mediation called Vipassina.
