Nepalese Member Of Parliament Rana In The Custody Of Police

July 5, 2011: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) team has yesterday arrested Naradmuni Rana, Member of Parliament nominated by the CPN-UML following the proportional election system charging him with selling his privileged diplomatic passport at one million rupees. Mr. Rana has been the third Member of Parliament involved in selling the diplomatic passports and taken in the custody of police, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.

The CIB has also another member of parliament Shiva Pujan Ray Yadav involved in selling his passport but has not been arrested, yet because he has been absconding since he was implicated in the passport scandal. Mr. Yadav got elected directly from constituency No.6 of Sarlahi. He has represented Madheshi Janaadhikar Forum-Nepal.

Mr. Rana has two passports. He sold one passport keeping another for him. Mr. Rana has not only disgraced his party CPN-UML but also has tarnished the images of the Nepalese parliamentarians.
