Nepalese Flocked To Fill Up EPS For Jobs In Korea

August 22, 2013: a large number of Nepalese youths flocked to fill out the Employment Permit System (EPS) TOPIK examinations forms seeking jobs in South Korea, as South Korea is a lucrative employment destination, according to the news on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’.
Anyone passing this exam qualifies for getting a job in South Korea following the Employment Permit System (EPS). EPS Center in Nepal called both male and female Nepalese of the age between 18 and 39 for filling out applications for participating in the EPS TOPIK exam for four days starting on Wednesday. Each applicant has to pay Nepalese currency equivalent to US$ 24 for the application form.
Director of HRD Korea, EPS Center in Nepal Lee Dong Sirk said that an attractive pay, other benefits and good security made South Korea the first choice of the Nepalese migrant workers. Lee said that his office would hold the EPS TOPIK exams for scientific selection of qualified workers effectively this time. “The names of the candidates will be put in the roster for foreign jobs in Korea after they pass EPS TOPIK exams. But they must wait until they get job employment permission in Korea,” he.
Manager of EPS Center Nepal Ramchandra Giri said that candidates could fill up forms at three places such as Sano Gaucharan of Gyaneshwor, Siddhartah Banasthali Institute, and Laboratory School of Kritipur in the Kathmandu Valley. EPS center also collects application forms from Butwal and Dharan easing the candidates living outside the valley, according to Giri.
Following the EPS system, South Korea has been recruiting workers from other countries such as Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Pakistan Sri-Lanka, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam.
