By KTM Metro Reporter

November 21, 2012: Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yang Houlan yesterday briefed the Nepalese media people and the circle of academics on the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) just ended. Chinese Ambassador Yang told the audience that China has elevated itself to the second largest economy from the sixth largest economy in the world during the past ten years, according to the Xinhua news.

With the new leadership in place for a decade, China will strive for peace, development, cooperation and mutual benefit, and maintain world peace and promote common development; China will reform its political system without following the western political system, the ambassador said.

"We will continue to promote friendship and partnership with our neighboring countries," the ambassador told a gathering at the Chinese embassy in Kathmandu, and acknowledged the important relations between Nepal and China, and the concern China holds about the political stability and development in Nepal.
