President Says Institutionalize Democracy

Issue 09, February 28, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

February 26, 2010: speaking at the inaugural function of the Federation of Nepal Journalists in Nepalgunj, President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav has said that Nepalis need to institutionalize the democracy that Nepalis have received after the great efforts they have made for six decades.

The irony is that the same President has abused the Interim Constitution of Nepal of 2007 directly writing a letter to the then army chief for saving his job and goes on saying that he has done so under the plea of the leaders of eighteen political parties. The President is responsible for the current political deadlock that has been the result of the President acting on directly writing a letter beyond the mandate he has received.
