Nepal Army Briefs Prime Minister‚ And Ministers

September 27, 2012: the Nepal Army (NA) briefed prime minister, ministers, and other officials on various activities in an event held at the headquarters of the NA in Kathmandu on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, according to ‘HIMALAYAN NEWS SERVICE’.

Chief of Army Staff Gaurav Shumsher JB Rana welcomed Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bijaya Kumar Gacchedar, Minister for Physical Planning and Works Hridayesh Tripathi, and Finance Minister Barshaman Pun, Chief Secretary Leela Mani Paudyal and Secretary to Defense Ministry Tilakram Sharma.

Then, Brigadier Generals such as Padam Bilash Karki and Hari Bahadur Basnet briefed the high-profile guests on the organizational structure and responsibilities of the Nepal Army and its various activities.

Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai in turn said that such briefings held by the NA would help politicians to make policies on the defense, and also stressed the need for making changes in the traditional structures of the Nepal Army, writes ‘HIMALAYAN NEWS SERVICE’.
