Chinese Women Delegation Visiting Nepal

April 3, 2012: Deputy Speaker Purna Kumari Subedi received a 16-member Chinese women’s delegation led by Vice-Chairperson of Standing Committee of National People’s Congress of the Republic of China and President of All China Women’s Federation Chen Zhill at the international airport in Kathmandu yesterday. The women’s delegation is in Nepal for a five-day visit.

During the five-day stay in Nepal, members of the delegation are meeting with the President, the Prime Minister, Constituent Assembly Chair and the Vice-Chairperson, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister; they also would hold meetings with the Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare and women lawmakers, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.

The delegation led by Chen Zhill has called on Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhatarai at the his office at Singha Durbar today, Prime Minister Bhattarai shared his views on Nepal’s ongoing peace and constitution writing process and Nepal-China relationship with the members of the visiting delegation; the delegation also has held a separate meeting with Chairman of Constituent Assembly Subash Nemwang at his office in Singha Durbar. The delegation is in Kathmandu at the invitation of Deputy Speaker Purna Kumari Subedi according to the news posted on the Nepalnews.com
