January 11, 2013: a group of people led by Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-Nepal) President Kamal Thapa that represents the regressive force went to glorify the despotic ruler called Prithvi Narayan Shah marking his 291st birth anniversary today.
President Kamal Thapa was the Home Minister of the former Gyanendra Shah’s cabinet that had killed many people in an attempt to suppress the people’s movement in 2006. At that time, Gyanendra stole a large amount of the people’s money, and Home Minister Thapa took out a half million rupees each day during the people’s movement in 2006 to suppress the movement. President Thapa must have some money leftover from the stolen money to glorify his master today.
President Thapa should know if he had read the history of Nepal, Prithvi Narayan was the tyrant and set up the most tyrannical rule and put on hold all development activities of all Nepalis for 240 years to keep the people ignorant and suppressive for enjoying the royal lives of the rulers.
The people of Kathmandu in particular and of the entire country in general had heavily suffered from the 240-year rule set up by the man called Prithvi Narayan. So, the people of Kathmandu now need to rise against the glorification of the man that had kept the entire people in poverty and in destitute for 240 years, and immediately remove the statue of Prithvi and other statues of Shahs, too from the crossroads of Kathmandu.
