First Meeting Of CWC Of NC

Issue 44, October 31, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter

October 29, 2010: after the 12th general convention, the new Central Working Committee (CWC) of Nepali Congress (NC) has held its first meeting at its Sanepa central office in Lalitpur on Thursday, October 28, 2010, and the members have discussed various political issues including the current political deadlock, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of October 29, 2010 writes.

The newly elected CWC members by the 12th general convention have been for not pulling the prime ministerial candidate Ram Chandra Poudel out of the race before completing the peace process ignoring the reality of the never-ending election to a new Prime Minister inviting the political conflict among the major political parties.

The 12th general convention has elected 64 out of 85 members of the CWC following the statute of the Nepali Congress. The president also elected by the 12th general convention will nominate the remaining 21 members to the CWC. Newly elected President Sushil Koirala has already nominated Sher Bahadur Deuba: his rival for the job of the President to the member of the CWC.

NC President needs to nominate another 20 persons to the CWC members. Having such power, the President of the NC could be dictatorial and misuse the power for setting up the dominance of family in the party or he can bring in the persons defeated in the election held to the various positions of the NC party during the 12th general convention. For example he has already appointed Mr. Deuba defeated in the election to the president of the party. He might appoint another defeated man Bimalendra Nidhi to the CWC if not he might join one of the Madheshi Political Parties to keep up his political career.
