Disqualified Maoist Combatants Reject Government’s Offer

Issue 29, July 19, 2009

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

On July 17, 2009, Maoist combatants disqualified by the UNMIN have demanded the facts based on which they have been disqualified; second, they have rejected any offer other than integrating them into the Nepal Army. They said that they have fought the people’s war for so many years and made possible to declare Nepal a republic, so they are real soldiers competent enough to be in the Nepal Army.

A 13-member team comprising the representatives of the Ministry of Peace and the UNMIN has visited the cantonment at Hathikhor, Nawalparasi on July 17, 2009.
