Rock Climbing A Good Attraction For Tourists In Tanahu

December 26, 2013: rock climbing at Chunpaharo in the Bandipur-6 of the Tanahun district has been an attraction to the domestic and foreign tourists as well since roc-climbing sites were developed a six year ago, according to the RSS news on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com.’
“A number of tourists has increased every year after the Sidda Cave Development Committee has set up rock climbing sites,” said Committee's founder chairman Lal Kumar Shrestha. Currently, 16 sites are in operation and preparation is underway to add five more sites for rock climbing on the 55-metre-high rock mountain, he added.
Sunar Gurung is constructing five more sites at his personal expenses through Nepal National Mountaineering Association.
More than 5,000 domestic and foreign tourists have so far ventured the rock climbing, the committee data says. The rock climbing has contributed to the promotion of tourism in the area, and also to the development of rock climbing sports, Shrestha said.
