Taking out nominations

On March 09, 2008, 198 candidates including some independent candidates pull out their nominations from the Election Commission leaving the total umber of candidates for the direct election for the seats in the Constituent Assembly to 4,014. Of them 373 are women candidates. It is only nine percent of the total candidates.
Out of the 25 candidates taking out their nominations from the Kathmandu constituencies, fifteen were from the constituency number 10 where the Maoists’ Chairman Prachanda is contesting for the direction election for the seat in the Constituent Assembly.
