APF Flying Squads In All Regions

November 13, 2013: starting yesterday, the Armed Police Force (APF) has deployed a ‘Flying Squad’ one each at the headquarters of all five development regions to monitor the overall operation of its personnel deployed at various regions to maintain security during the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections on November 19, according to the news on the ‘gorkhapatraonline.com.

 

A ‘Flying Squad’ led by a Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) has the mandate to evaluate the performance of the APF’s election cell at the local level. Deputy Superintendent of Police also the chief of APF news section Ajay Chhatkuli said that the ‘Flying Squad’ would closely assess the issues ranging from APF personnel’s behavior in the field, discipline to the chain of command, violation of ethics and APF regulations, and so on.

 

The ‘Flying Squad’ authorized to make recommendations and suggest the APF headquarters any actions to be taken concerning the security during the elections, would work in a close coordination with the central level election unit at the APF Halchowk Headquarters in Kathmandu.

 

The APF deployed additional forces to the election cells at central and the regional level starting yesterday. The election cell and the regional desks stationed at the headquarters would be coordinated by a senior police official from Tuesday, said DSP Chhatkuli.
