Nationwide Traffic Shutdown On August 15

August 12, 2010: The Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) is holding a countrywide traffic shutdown on August 15, 2010 to put pressure on the political leaders to complete a new constitution and the peace process as scheduled.
Recently, Chairman of Constitutional Committee responsible for completing the draft of a new constitution has said that the civil society needs to put pressure on the politicians to complete writing of a new constitution.
Shutting down the traffic in the country will not make any difference to the political leaders. It will cause economic and various sorts of losses to the common folks. So, they need to think of something other sorts of actions to put real pressure on the politicians.
Various diplomatic missions have notified their citizens not to travel, as roads will be blocked and traffic will disrupted on this day, and to keep safe avoid all demonstrations and even gatherings.
