President Indirectly Apologize to People
By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu
On July 13, 2009, in its morning news, the state-run Radio Nepal has stated that the President has come to know the traffic chaos and jam caused by his travel back and forth between his residence and the international convention hall at Baneswore in Kathmandu on July 9, 2009 for delivering the polices and programs of the government for the fiscal year 2009 (2066) from the newspapers and saddened by the inconveniences caused to the people for four hours; he also has said that he is prepared to be at the traffic jam rather than causing the people inconvenience.
In an attempt to please the President and the major coalition partner Nepali Congress (NC), Home Minister Bhim Rawal belonging to the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist and Leninist (CPN-UML) of the coalition government of twenty-two parties headed by Prime Minister Madhav Nepal defeated in two constituencies in the elections for the constituent assembly-cum-parliament held on April 10, 2008 has staged a lavish and showy travel of the President from his residence to the international convention hall and back to his residence on July 9, 2009 causing great inconvenience to the people in Kathmandu.
Such a showy travel staged by Home Minister Bhim Rawal to please the NC leaders and the President formerly belonging to the NC has backfired the CPN-UML, as most of the people in Kathmandu have pointed their fingers at the President and the CPN-UML Minister for causing the sufferings to the people in Kathmandu due to the traffic chaos and stoppage for four hours.
The President has expressed his regrets for what has caused sufferings to the people in Kathmandu; now Home Minister Bhim Rawal needs to apologize to the people in Kathmandu for causing sufferings to them for his unwise actions of staging such a showy travel of the President.
