Chief Of DFID Conveys Concerns Of Donor Community To CPN-UML Chair

Issue 51, December 19, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter

December 13, 2010: on behalf of Australia, European Union, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, United Kingdom and USAID, the Head of Office of the UK Department for International Development (DFID) Sarah Sanyahumbi has met with Chairman of CPN-UML Jhalanath Khanal today and conveyed the concerns of the international community about the continuing political impasse that has adverse impact on the development of Nepal, nepalnews.com reports.

In the recent past, the joint statement of the international community has even warned of the possibility of diverting the resources obligated to the development projects and programs in Nepal to other countries for better use of the resources.

However, officiating Prime Minister Madhav Nepal has not publicly reacted to the warnings of the international community. He is the one holding the call for a House session hostage for the ransom of building a consensus on the political matters among the parties for breaking the political deadlock. Building a consensus among the political parties is next to impossible. So, Madhav Nepal is playing such kind of fraudulent politics for extending his stay in the office.

Chairman of CPN-UML Jhalanath Khanal has held the election to a new prime minister hostage for the ransom of all political parties working on the consensus politics that is not possible at all in the current political situation.

Holding anybody or anything for any sorts of ransom is certainly a criminal act. Surely, the police will not dare to punish such criminals saying these matters are political ones. So, Nepalis need to punish these guys for political crimes on the streets or at the polls without delay to deal with the current political crisis.
