Shutting Down Dolkha and Traffic In Kathmandu, Kamalaries And Senior Citizens

Issue 23, June 9, 2013

By KTM Metro Reporter

June 3, 2013: NC has imposed indefinite shutdown in the Dolakha district from today demanding actions against activists of UCPN-Maoist aligned Youth Communist League (YCL) involved in “attacking” the party activists. NC said it would continue to enforce the shutdown until YCL activists involved in the attacks against Sanu Sherpa, District Chairman of NC’s youth wing Tarun Dal and other party activists are arrested, according to nepalnews.com.

The so-called Democratic Party NC neither could punish the YCL activists nor the home minister or his ministry for the inability to control the fight between the Tarun dal but the NC has been holding the innocent people of the Dolkha district for the ransom of punishing the YCL activists. What a shameless democratic party NC is!

According to state-owned news agency RSS, the argument has started off after the YCL activists stopped the Tarun dal activists from taking the scrap metal from a dozer set ablaze by the Maoists during the conflict for sale in the market.

The NC has been enforcing the shutdown in the Dolkha district knowing it was illegal and inhuman and it violets the fundamental rights of the people to go peacefully to work and earn livelihood. The shutdown imposed by the NC kept the daily wage earners in hunger until the NC lifted the shutdown. The self-proclaimed savior of democracy President of NC Sushil Koirala wanted the poor people in the Dolkha district to die of hunger. What a great leader of NC Sushil Koirala is!

Nepal Students Union (NSU): the students’ wing of NC, continued to stop the regular flow of traffic at the campuses in Kathmandu demanding the Trubhuvan University hold the Free Students Union (FSU) elections. These students have no guts to stop the university but they have courage to punish the innocent commuters.

Poor Regmi could not do anything to stop such illegal things going on among the politicians and their adopted students. He has the police but he did not send to strike such students and politicians violating any sorts of laws and rules but Mr Regmi and his home minister were smart to send the riot police strike on the heads of Kamalaries that have been peacefully protesting against the violent killing of one of them in Kathmandu two years ago. They have been demanding the rule of law and justice to the under privileged people. Chairman Regmi also smart to send the police to forcibly remove the senior citizens peacefully rallying at the Department of Transport demanding the reservations of seats for them on the public transport vehicles. Any civilized nation has made such provisions for the senior citizens but Mr Regmi has sent the police to strike the senior citizens. Mr Regmi has been more a politician than the justice. So, it is shameful for him to keep the position of the chief justice of Supreme Court of Nepal, as he would not be able to deliver justice to the people.
