On August 4, 2009, speaking to the CPN-UML cadres in Biratnagar, Chairman Jhalanath Khanal has said that currently the cadres of various parties have been fighting for getting commissions from the award of the contracts; the reputation of the party will not been good if they run the party office from such money; so, they should run the party offices from the money they have legally and transparently received; the recent fight between the CPN-UML cadres and the NC cadres has been for receiving the commission from the contract to be awarded for the civil work at the Tri-chandra campus to a contractor according to the state-run newspaper ‘Gorkhapatra’ of August 5, 2009. Chairman Khanal also has said that he has been receiving the information on the political cadres fighting for commission in the districts, too.
