Retrieval Of Stolen State Land

August 25, 2011: the Commission on Investigation into Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has retrieved 1,614 ropanis = 203 acres = 84.41 hector of stolen land for the government of Nepal according to the news posted on myrepublica.com 

The CIAA has recovered the multi-billion rupees worth of lands from the land thieves through the investigations carried out by its staffs over a period of one year. In conjunction of the corrupt state officials, they have managed to steal the lands in various areas of the Kathmandu Valley.

The corrupt state officials had transferred the state-owned land to the individuals taking the advantage of the current fluid political situation and the transitional period. The CIAA has also filed lawsuits against the state officials allegedly involved in stealing the lands at the Special Court.
