Prime Minister Lays A Foundation For A New Border Bridge

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba laid a foundation stone for building a four-lane bridge over the Mahakali River in the far western Nepal yesterday. Prime Minister Deuba said that this bridge would open up a door to the development of the far western region, as it would contribute to increase the trade with India, and it would make an easy access to Delhi, the news in “gorkhapatra” of today stated.
The estimated cost of the bridge is NPR 3.28 billion, and is estimated to complete in three years. The length of the bridge is 800m, and width is 23.8m. Nepal is constructing it at its own cost, the news stated.
Mahakali River is bordering with India in the far western Nepal. India has built a dam on this river on the border with Nepal after the life of the old dam is expiring.
