Tax-Free Export To China

Issue 28, July 11, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter

July 9, 2010: ‘The Time of India’ in its July-8 reporting has stated that China has decided to permit tax-free imports from Bangladesh and Nepal effective on July 01, 2010 entering the domain of India for business.

Nepal has been trying for such a tax-free export to China since some time ago for increasing its exports to China. This will help Nepal to make China another major trade partner. However, the mighty Himalayas standing between Nepal and China will help little to move goods from Nepal to China and vice versa.

However, the improved trade with China will offset the trade unbalance it has with India. So far, Nepal has been importing everything from India and exporting only a few things because of India indirectly blocking exports from Nepal in the name of quality control and so on.
