Meeting Of Three Leaders To End Squabble
By Kathmandu Metro Reporter in Kathmandu
On October 21, 2009, three leaders such as Jhalanath Khanal, Madhav Nepal and KP Oli of the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist and Leninist (CPN-UML) have sat together at the five-star hotel Soaltee in Kathmandu to end the internal squabbling committing to follow the mandate given by the Eight Convention of the party.
KP Oli has set up parallel party committees at the district level as a protest against Chairman Jhalanath Khanal tearing down district committees. The Central Disciplinary Committee of the CPN-UML has been serious about the parallel party committees at the districts.
Jhalanath Khanal has defeated Oli in the election for the position of the Chairman of the CPN-UML in the Eight Convention. Mr. Oli has said that 500 bogus votes have made Mr. Khanal to win the election. Since then their personal relationship has gone down to the bottom.
Political analysts say that Jhalanath Khanal has been a flip-flop. His credibility has gone down as he flip-flopped in the actions against the undisciplined army chief, and has been responsible for causing the current political deadlock, and making Madhav Nepal the Prime Minister.
