Rule of Law

Issue 04, January 25, 2009

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

January 22, 2009:  Kathmanduites have been living in the stinking atmosphere for more than a week, as the trashes have been openly lying at the collection centers and creating a disgusting atmosphere, as the Kathmandu Metropolitan administration could not collect and dispose the trashes since the people of trash-dumping area have been obstructing the disposal of trashes putting forward some demands to be met by the Kathmandu Metropolitan administration.

Kathmandu Metropolitan administration successfully negotiated with the people of the trash-dumping area but the cadres of the CPN-UML have been obstructing the road to the trash-disposal area stranding several trucks carrying trashes on the road demanding to bring the alleged Maoist cadres that had cut the legs of the CPN-UML cadres to justice.

The easiest thing to do has been to stop the traffic on road when the government is weak and when the government is made of several parties and when the partners in coalition fight against each other.

The CPN-UML clearly do not follow the rule of law as any other political parties and just watch its cadres to stop the vehicular traffic and punish the innocent commuters and also the innocent Kathmanduites.

The question is where the current coalition government would lead the Nepalis to when its partners do not follow the rule of law and often punish the innocent Nepalis. Would Nepalis forget the grievances created by the heedless politicians and forgive them?
