August 14, 2012: ultimately, some logical thinking has been dawn in the minds of the cadres unleashed by the opposition coalition of the NC and CPN-UML, so they have started using more civil method of opposing the government rather than shutting down traffic and business of other people in protest against the government.
Cadres of the opposition coalition of NC and CPN-UML waved black flags at Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai in Banepa when he was on the way to Dhulikhel to preside over a meeting held by Kathmandu University (KU) today; cadres waving black flags protested the prime minister in at least three places along the way the prime minister traveled, writes nepalnews.com.
At the meeting, Chancellor of Kathmandu University and Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai said that teaching institutions should be free of political interference and should enjoy autonomy; however, they should not misuse autonomy they enjoyed. Pro-Chancellor and Education Minister Dina Nath Sharma urged the University administration to remain free from politicization and commercialization, and assured the university administration of the state support for it, writes ‘The Himalayan Times’.
Similarly, the opposition cadres had waved black flags at the prime minister in Pokhara yesterday. Receiving a memorandum from Pokhara Airport Construction Stakeholders Committee, Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai assured them of the construction of the much-hyped Regional International Airport in Pokhara would go ahead at any cost despite the obstruction from some forces, writes nepalnews.com.
